"Daystar installation of water pipes for cooling of new Indiana data center"
GRIT Infrastructure delivers the full range of underground utility construction in-house through our operating companies. From trenchless installation to open-cut excavation, our crews bring the equipment, certifications, and experience to take on public, commercial, and industrial underground work of any scale.
Directional
Boring
Hydro excavation uses high-pressure water and vacuum recovery to expose and dig around live utilities safely, without the strike risk that comes with mechanical digging near buried lines.
It's also a cleaner method—less spoil, less restoration, and a smaller footprint on the job site—which makes it a strong fit for utility locating, potholing, and work in tight urban rights-of-way.
Excavation
When open-cut excavation is the right call—new construction, deeper utility work, or sites where trenchless methods aren't practical—our crews handle it from initial dig through backfill and site restoration.
We plan every excavation around what's already in the ground, coordinating utility locates and safety protocols before the first cut, so the job moves efficiently without unnecessary risk to existing infrastructure or our crews.
Jack & Bore Auger Drilling
Jack and Bore auger drilling installs casing pipe beneath roads, railways, and other obstructions that can't be disturbed from above. It's a trenchless method built for exactly the crossings where directional boring isn't suited to the ground conditions, space requirements, or unique conditions, like under railroads or pipe size requirements. We are experienced with railroad crossings, and our insurance can cover railroad protective policies where necessary and appropriate.

industry we serve
GRIT Infrastructure is focused on these sectors:
Sewer & Water Line
We construct, repair, replace, and maintain sanitary sewers and water mains for municipal systems, commercial sites, and the taps and services from 2” to 42”. We operate across the spectrum from connecting regional water and sewer systems to distant city systems, up to and including individual properties, to the main line.
From a single service repair to a full municipal main replacement, our crews handle the work in-house, coordinating with utility owners and inspectors so the job is documented and accepted the first time.
Power & Gas Lines
We construct, repair, replace, and maintain power and gas lines for utilities, co-ops, and clean energy providers. Whether the need is consistent utility line work or emergency storm support from our vac trucks and boring machines, both commercial and residential, our crews handle this in-house.
Who We Work For
GRIT Infrastructure and its operating companies primarily service municipalities, utility providers, regional co-ops, and general contractors.
